To effectively enhance the company’s emergency response capabilities for sudden elevator malfunctions and ensure the safety of employees and visitors when using elevators, Green Company recently carefully organized and successfully conducted an elevator malfunction emergency drill. This drill was designed to test the feasibility of the company’s emergency plan and ensure that, in a real emergency, employees’ lives can be protected swiftly and efficiently.

During the preparation phase of the drill, Green Company developed a detailed and comprehensive drill plan. To make the drill more realistic, the staff carefully set up a simulated elevator malfunction scenario: Inside an office building elevator, the elevator suddenly stopped working, the doors could not open normally, and there was also slight shaking—perfectly recreating the tense atmosphere that would prevail during an actual elevator failure.

Following the training instructions, the trapped employees first used the emergency call button inside the elevator to contact the monitoring center and clearly reported the elevator’s location and the condition of the occupants. Meanwhile, the employees participating in the drill remained calm, comforted each other, and avoided unnecessary movements or banging on the elevator doors. Upon receiving the report, the company’s emergency response team promptly activated the pre-planned emergency protocol and rushed to the scene to investigate the cause of the malfunction. Security personnel then placed warning signs on every floor where the faulty elevator was located. After 15 minutes of urgent intervention, the “trapped” employees were safely rescued.
